FAQ
What Data Genly generates, how uploads and industries work, what happens to your files, and how pricing works.
No. Every value is generated. Data Genly never copies records from real people, and any resemblance to a real person is coincidental.
Because the data follows it: products, job titles, companies, categories and values are realistic for that industry. Choosing it first also unlocks the file uploads and puts that industry's templates at the top.
Ten industries - healthcare, banking, insurance, retail, FMCG, real estate, construction, logistics, telecom and hospitality - and many countries. Names, phone numbers, cities, postal codes and money follow the country you choose, in its language.
Upload a few example rows as CSV, Excel or JSON. Data Genly reads the formats - ID prefixes such as CUST-0001, code patterns, categories and how often each appears, number and date ranges, empty cells - and generates brand-new rows in the same shape. Short category words (like Open / Won / Lost) are reused; names, emails and other values are never copied, and the file isn't stored.
Please don't. A column list or a few made-up example rows are all Data Genly needs. Don't upload real names, emails, phone numbers or other personal information.
Up to 1,000 records per file on Free. Paid plans scale to millions - up to 5,000,000 records a month - and large datasets stream straight to the file.
CSV, Excel (XLSX) and JSON on every plan, plus a SQL file (CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements) on paid plans. Files get meaningful names such as customer_data_500_records_2026-10-21.xlsx.
Yes. A live sample of ten rows from the real generator updates as you edit the fields, and every finished dataset gets a validation summary and a searchable preview.
24 hours on Free and longer on paid plans. After that the file is deleted automatically; you can regenerate it from your history at any time.
Yes. Cancel a running generation from Generations - cancelled runs don't count. Save any setup as a schema and generate from it again with one click.
There are two options. Free gives you 5,000 records a month. Above that you pay for what you need: choose how many records a month and which industries on the Pricing page and the price is worked out for you - the more records, the lower the price per 1,000, with a small monthly minimum.
Each industry brings its own templates and realistic values. One industry is included; each extra one adds a small monthly amount, shown in the calculator.
The records and generations that finish successfully. Failed or cancelled generations are never counted. Your usage, what's left and a forecast for the month are on the Usage page.
Yes, any time from the Billing page. Change your records or industries when your needs change; if you cancel, you keep your plan until the end of the month you've paid for, then move back to Free.
